Senior Shopify Developer

• Analyze business requirements and design scalable Shopify-native solutions
• Produce technical designs and implementation strategies for features and system integrations
• Make sound technical decisions within agreed architectural frameworks and platform constraints
• Ensure all solutions comply with Shopify best practices and platform limitations
• Identify technical risks early and propose effective mitigation strategies
• Customize and extend Horizon themes using Liquid, JSON templates, and schema
• Build custom checkout UI extensions using Shopify Checkout Extensibility
• Develop private and custom Shopify applications tailored to client-specific business needs
• Work extensively with Shopify metafields, metaobjects, Admin APIs, Storefront APIs, and GraphQL
• Implement event-driven workflows using webhooks and API integrations
• Develop Shopify Functions for discounts, delivery rules, and checkout validation logic
• Design and implement Shopify-native data models using metaobjects and metafields
• Integrate Shopify with external platforms such as ERP, OMS, WMS, and CRM systems
• Lead code reviews and enforce Shopify development best practices
• Ensure high standards of performance, security, and maintainability across all solutions
• Support sprint planning, effort estimation, and technical delivery activities
• Maintain clear technical documentation and handover materials
• Collaborate closely with Product, UX, QA, and integration teams
• Provide technical guidance and mentoring to Shopify developers
• Act as the technical escalation point during project delivery
• Collaborate with external partners and vendors when required

Requirements

• Minimum 3-5 years of hands-on experience in Shopify development, including Shopify Plus implementations
• Strong experience customizing Horizon themes
• Proven experience building custom checkout UI extensions
• Demonstrated experience developing private and custom Shopify applications
• Deep understanding of Shopify core concepts including metafields, metaobjects, Liquid, JSON templates, and schema
• Strong expertise with Shopify Admin APIs, Storefront APIs, and GraphQL queries and mutations
• Solid understanding of Shopify data modeling, extensibility patterns, and platform limitations
• Experience with Git, CI/CD pipelines, and modern development workflows
• Strong ability to translate complex business requirements into scalable technical solutions
• Excellent problem-solving and technical decision-making skills
• Strong communication and collaboration abilities
• Ability to work effectively in complex, requirement-driven environments
• Comfortable providing technical leadership while remaining hands-on with development
