About the job Country Operations Lead

  • Lead and oversee the Sri Lanka Operations team, comprising 100+ employees across network, security, IT, and delivery functions.
  • Partner with Australian Leadership Teams to define and execute long-term operational strategies aligned with business objectives.
  • Collaborate with People & Culture and internal leadership teams to attract, develop, and retain top talent.
  • Drive achievement of KPIs while continuously improving performance standards and operational efficiency.
  • Lead, coach, and mentor teams to ensure high performance in a cost-effective and scalable manner.
  • Deliver clear, concise, and timely executive-level communications and reports.
  • Identify and implement opportunities for automation, AI-driven monitoring, and process optimization.
  • Establish structured training and professional development programs to enhance team capabilities.
  • Work closely with Talent Acquisition teams to recruit high-quality talent and strengthen team capacity, particularly within NOC functions.
  • Ensure operational excellence through continuous improvement initiatives and strong governance practices.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Bachelor's Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Telecommunications Engineering, or a related field.
  • Minimum 10+ years of experience leading large-scale operations teams within a technology-driven organization.
  • Proven track record of developing and executing strategic plans aligned with organizational goals.
  • Demonstrated experience in talent development, leadership coaching, and building high-performance teams.
  • Strong experience managing cross-functional and geographically distributed teams.
  • Exceptional communication skills with ability to deliver executive-level insights and reporting.
  • Strong understanding of telecommunications networks, monitoring systems, and ITIL processes.
  • Experience in incident, problem, and change management frameworks.
  • Knowledge of network automation, observability tools, and AI/ML-driven operations (preferred).
  • High emotional intelligence with the ability to manage complex situations effectively and diplomatically.
  • Strong problem-solving capabilities with a focus on identifying root causes and implementing sustainable solutions.
