Machine Learning Engineer (SAS Viya) (8 months contract)

• Develop and implement machine learning models for financial and taxation applications
• Collect, clean, preprocess, and transform structured financial datasets for modeling
• Train, evaluate, and optimize ML models using SAS Viya and Python-based libraries
• Assist in building and maintaining ML pipelines and workflows
• Perform exploratory data analysis to identify patterns, trends, and insights
• Support model deployment, monitoring, and performance optimization
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate ML models into production systems
• Maintain clean, well-documented, and testable code
• Follow ML engineering, data governance, and compliance best practices
• Continuously learn and apply new ML techniques relevant to financial analytics

Requirements

• Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Engineering, Statistics, or a related field
• 3+ years of hands-on experience in machine learning or applied data science
• Experience or exposure to financial, taxation, or accounting-related data
• Hands-on experience with SAS Viya
• Proficiency in Python and ML libraries such as NumPy, Pandas, and Scikit-learn
• Understanding of core machine learning concepts, model evaluation, and feature engineering
• Good knowledge of SQL and relational databases
• Basic understanding of ML deployment and MLOps concepts is a plus
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills
