About the job Pricing Strategy Analyst
Pricing Analysis & Reporting
- Deliver pricing insights explaining pricing actions, performance trends, and loss ratio impacts.
- Analyse large datasets using SQL, Python, R and other analytics tools.
- Produce regular pricing reports, dashboards and insight packs for underwriting and business teams.
- Investigate pricing-related questions and provide evidence-based recommendations.
Data Management & Visualisation
- Build data visualisations and dashboards using Tableau to support pricing decisions.
- Manipulate and analyse data using Excel, Python, and reporting tools.
- Present complex analysis in a clear and accessible manner to non-technical stakeholders.
Collaboration & Stakeholder Engagement
- Work closely with underwriting teams, product and commercial stakeholders.
- Communicate pricing outcomes, assist in commercial understanding and support decision-making.
- Contribute to pricing initiatives and wider cross-functional projects.
Performance & Strategy
- Support pricing projects and initiatives ensuring alignment with business objectives.
- Provide insight to support pricing optimisation and product development.
- Ensure pricing analysis supports improvements in conversion, loss ratio, and product profitability.
Requirements
- Bachelors degree or relevant experience (ideally involving programming or data).
- 13 years experience in a Pricing Analyst role within insurance.
- Advanced SQL, Python, and/or R programming expertise.
- Strong Tableau skills (including advanced dashboards).
- Strong Excel for data manipulation and modelling.
- Experience working with large datasets.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to simplify technical concepts.
- Ability to manage and lead key analytical tasks and projects.
Desirable Skills
- Travel insurance pricing experience.
- Prior experience with price optimisation.
- Project management experience.
- Experience building strong relationships with underwriters and commercial teams.
