What’s the purpose of the role?

The Bing Ads Specialist will be responsible for planning, executing, and optimizing paid search campaigns across Microsoft Advertising (Bing Ads), with a clear focus on driving high-quality traffic, improving conversion performance, and maximizing return on ad spend. This is a hands-on, results-driven role where data and precision are everything — the ideal candidate knows how to turn search intent into measurable business outcomes through structured, performance-driven strategies.

What will I be doing?

  • Manage and optimize Microsoft Advertising accounts end-to-end.
  • Set up, launch, and maintain search campaigns across Bing and partner networks.
  • Conduct keyword research, build campaign structures, and implement targeting strategies.
  • Manage bids, budgets, and audience targeting to hit CPA and ROAS goals.
  • Monitor search term reports to identify negative keywords and eliminate wasted spend.
  • Optimize match types and bidding strategies for efficiency and scale.
  • Run A/B tests on ad copy, extensions, and landing page alignment to improve CTR and conversions.
  • Set up and maintain conversion tracking and ensure attribution accuracy.
  • Deliver regular performance reports with clear, actionable recommendations.
  • Stay current with Microsoft Advertising updates, features, and best practices.

What are my deliverables?

  • Fully operational and optimized Bing Ads campaigns running against clear performance goals.
  • Accurate conversion tracking and attribution setup in place.
  • Regular performance reports with metrics, insights, and actionable recommendations.
  • Documented keyword strategies with ongoing expansion and refinement.
  • Negative keyword lists maintained to reduce wasted spend.
  • A/B testing frameworks with clear results and learnings.
  • Evidence of improved performance over time — lower CPA, higher ROAS, better CTR.
  • Campaign structures built for scale, with clear budget allocation and bidding logic

What experience do I need to succeed?

  • Accurate conversion tracking and attribution setup in place.
  • Proven hands-on experience managing Microsoft Advertising / Bing Ads campaigns with measurable results — this is non-negotiable.
  • Strong understanding of paid search fundamentals: keyword research, bidding strategies, match types, and campaign structure.
  • Experience setting up and managing conversion tracking and attribution models.
  • Proficiency in Google Analytics and reporting dashboards.
  • The ability to read performance data, identify what's working (and what's not), and act on it quickly.
  • Solid organizational skills and strong attention to detail — nothing slips through the cracks.

Nice to have:

  • Experience managing Google Ads campaigns — the logic transfers directly
  • Familiarity with third-party bid management tools like SA360 or Optmyzr
  • Background in an agency or multi-account environment
  • Knowledge of landing page optimization and CRO principles

What skills do I need to succeed?

  • Keyword strategy: research, structure, and continuously refine keywords that drive results.
  • Bidding precision: understand different bidding strategies and when to apply each one.
  • Testing mindset:  run structured A/B tests and extract clear, actionable learnings from them.
  • Attention to detail — budgets, tracking, match types, negatives — nothing gets missed.
  • Communication skills: translate complex data into clear, concise reports for different audiences
  • Self-management: as a fractional role, you need to be proactive, organized, and able to deliver without hand-holding.
  • Tech fluency: comfortable working with tools like Google Analytics, Slack, Google Workspace, and project management platforms.
