What’s the purpose of the role?

The WordPress Developer role involves building and maintaining high-quality, responsive WordPress websites using the Avada theme, translating finalized design files (Figma, PSD, Illustrator, and written copy) into pixel-perfect web pages. This position requires a detail-obsessed approach to coding and a commitment to quality, with additional responsibilities for ongoing site maintenance and optimization. The role offers the potential to transition into a full-time position based on performance.

What will I be doing?

• Building responsive, high-quality WordPress websites using the Avada theme.

• Translating Figma layouts, PSDs, Illustrator files, and written copy into pixel-perfect web pages.

• Maintaining existing WordPress sites: performing plugin and WordPress core updates, resolving technical issues, and implementing content updates.

• Ensuring all code is clean, lightweight, and follows industry best practices.

• Performing routine QA to ensure designs are faithfully executed across devices and browsers.

• Collaborating with design and content teams to ensure timely delivery.

What are my deliverables?

• Pixel-perfect, responsive WordPress websites built with the Avada theme.

• Well-maintained client websites (5–10 sites) with up-to-date plugins, WordPress core, and content.

• SEO-optimized and accessible web pages based on design and marketing input.

• High-quality, clean, and maintainable code that adheres to best practices.

What experience do I need to succeed?

• Proven experience building responsive WordPress websites with the Avada theme.

• Familiarity with Advanced Custom Fields and Pods is preferred.

• Experience translating static design files (Figma, PSD, Illustrator) and written copy into functional websites.

• Familiarity with WordPress maintenance, including plugin and core updates, and resolving technical issues.

• Knowledge of basic Accessibility (WCAG) and SEO best practices.

• Experience ensuring cross-browser compatibility and optimizing site performance.

• Strong command of the WordPress platform, including theme development and site management.

• Proficiency in HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and PHP as they relate to WordPress development.

• Exceptional attention to detail to ensure pixel-perfect execution of designs.

• Strong collaboration and communication skills for working with design, content, and leadership teams.

• Time management to handle flexible, project-based workloads and meet deadlines.

• Ability to stay current with front-end development trends, tools, and techniques.

• Strong English-speaking proficiency
