Qualifications & Certifications

  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent. An associate degree or certification in logistics, supply chain management, or a related field from a recognized Chinese institution is preferred.

Experience

  • Minimum of 8 years of experience in logistics operations within the EPC industry, with a strong focus on chemical projects.

Skill / Attributes / Competencies

  • Technical Skills: Proficient in logistics management software and tools. Familiarity with SAP or similar ERP systems is an advantage.
  • Knowledge: In-depth understanding of international logistics, transportation regulations, and customs procedures. Knowledge of industry standards and regulations specific to chemical projects in China.
  • Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills in Mandarin and English, with the ability to effectively interact with suppliers, vendors, and internal stakeholders.
  • Problem-Solving: Strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to assess risks and develop mitigation strategies.
  • Attention to Detail: High level of attention to detail and accuracy in handling logistics documentation and inventory records.
  • Teamwork: Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment and collaborate with various stakeholders.
  • Leadership: Demonstrated leadership abilities, with experience in mentoring and training junior staff.
  • Certification: Professional certifications such as Certified Logistics Associate (CLA) or Certified Logistics Technician (CLT) are highly desirable.

Responsibilities and Other Skills

  • Logistics Operations Management: Oversee and manage daily logistics operations, including transportation, warehousing, and distribution of materials and equipment for chemical projects.
  • Supplier Coordination: Work closely with suppliers, vendors, and subcontractors to ensure timely and efficient delivery of materials and equipment.
  • Inventory Management: Maintain accurate records of inventory levels, ensuring that materials are available as needed for project execution.
  • Compliance: Ensure compliance with all international, national, and local regulations related to the transportation and handling of materials.
  • Documentation: Prepare and maintain accurate documentation for all logistics activities, including shipping documents, customs paperwork, and delivery records.
  • Problem Resolution: Identify and resolve any issues that may impact delivery timelines, including logistical challenges, transportation delays, and supplier performance issues.
  • Stakeholder Communication: Provide regular updates to the Logistics Lead, project managers, and other stakeholders on logistics progress and any potential issues.
  • Safety: Ensure that all logistics activities are conducted in accordance with safety standards and regulations.
  • Continuous Improvement: Implement best practices and continuous improvement initiatives to enhance logistics processes and efficiency.
  • Training and Mentoring: Mentor and train junior logistics staff to develop their skills and ensure adherence to best practices.
