Company / Context

We are recruiting an Electrical engineer for a vertically integrated meat production company operating large processing and livestock facilities in the DRC. The company combines modern technology and sustainable practices to produce high-quality meat while ensuring operational efficiency and safety.

The Electrical Engineer will oversee all electrical and solar systems within the facilities, ensuring uninterrupted operations, safety, and efficiency. This is a hands-on role, directly managing a small team and coordinating with other technical staff. This role is based in Lubumbashi.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage electrical systems (40%) and solar systems (60%) in processing and facility operations, ensuring compliance with safety and technical standards.

• Directly supervise two team members and coordinate with other technicians and assistants.

• Diagnose, repair, and optimize electrical and solar installations within the facilities with a hands-on approach.

• Plan and oversee preventive and corrective maintenance for electrical and solar equipment.

• Participate in implementing new technical solutions for facility efficiency, including hybrid energy systems if applicable.

• Ensure safety of all operations according to local regulations and company procedures.

• Prepare technical reports and monitor key performance indicators for facility electrical and solar systems.

• Collaborate with field teams and contractors to maintain operational continuity and efficiency.

Candidate Profile

• Degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.

• Experience in electrical systems and solar operations in industrial or processing facilities.

• Hands-on approach with strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.

• Ability to manage a small team and coordinate multiple technical contributors.

• Plumbing experience is an advantage.

• Fluent in English; knowledge of French is a plus.

• Strong organizational, communication, and leadership skills on-site.

• Willingness to work directly on installations and travel as needed.
