Company / Context

Gladys Synergies is recruiting, on behalf of a client, a vertically integrated meat production company operating large processing and livestock facilities in the DRC, a Milling Manager.

Responsible for overall operations of maize and wheat milling, ensuring efficient production, product quality, food safety, cost control, and team management. The role ensures that milling processes run smoothly, meeting production targets while maintaining high standards of quality, safety, and equipment performance. This role is based in Lubumbashi.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead production planning and operational control for wheat and maize milling processes.

• Oversee mill maintenance activities and coordinate preventive and predictive maintenance with engineering teams for all milling machinery

• Monitor inventory levels for raw materials, Packing Material and consumables to ensure uninterrupted production.

• Manage mill budgets and drive cost-efficient operational practices.

• Manage Grain preparation processes, including cleaning, conditioning, tempering to achieve ideal milling conditions

• Work closely with quality assurance and laboratory teams to maintain product standards.

• Prepare operational reports covering production performance, plant reliability, and improvement initiatives.

• Supervise: Milling supervisors, Shift millers, Operators, Cleaning staff, Ensure proper training and skill development, Maintain discipline and productivity, Conduct performance evaluations.

Candidate Profile

• Proven experience in milling operations (maize/wheat), including team management in an industrial environment.

• Bachelor's degree in Food Engineering, Milling Technology, Agro-Industry, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.

• Strong knowledge of milling processes (cleaning, conditioning, tempering, grinding) and equipment maintenance.

• Proven ability to manage production planning, budgets, and cost optimization in a high-volume processing plant.

• Solid understanding of food safety standards and quality control systems (HACCP, GMP).

• Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to manage multidisciplinary teams.

• Fluent in english, knowledge of french i s a bonus
