Role Summary

The Senior Event Manager is a strategic leader and business growth driver, responsible for planning, managing, and delivering high-profile events and activations while also bringing in new business opportunities to the agency.

This role combines operational excellence and creative vision with a hunter mentality, ensuring the agency not only executes world-class events but also continuously expands its client portfolio.

The Senior Event Manager will oversee a team of event professionals, manage key client relationships, and actively identify, pitch, and secure new business opportunities, contributing directly to the agency’s growth and success.


Key Responsibilities

Event Strategy & Planning

  • Lead the strategic planning and conceptualization of events, ensuring they align with client objectives and brand positioning.

  • Develop detailed event plans, including timelines, budgets, and resource allocation.

  • Provide creative direction to elevate event concepts and guest experiences.

  • Identify new formats, technologies, and trends to innovate event design and execution.


Project & Operational Management

  • Oversee the end-to-end execution of events, ensuring smooth operations and high-quality delivery.

  • Manage vendor selection, negotiations, and relationships to secure competitive pricing and top-tier services.

  • Supervise all logistics, including venue management, permits, equipment, catering, and staffing.

  • Conduct detailed risk assessments and contingency planning for seamless execution.

  • Ensure compliance with health, safety, and legal standards.


Client Management & Relationship Building

  • Act as the primary point of contact for clients, delivering transparency, trust, and proactive communication.

  • Lead client presentations, proposals, and post-event reviews.

  • Position yourself as a strategic advisor, guiding clients on event trends, strategies, and innovation.

  • Build long-term relationships to drive repeat business and referrals.


Business Development & Growth

  • Actively bring in new business by identifying and pursuing potential clients, projects, and partnerships.

  • Maintain a hunter mentality, continuously seeking ways to expand the agency’s event portfolio.

  • Represent the agency at networking events, industry gatherings, and pitch opportunities.

  • Prepare and deliver compelling proposals, RFP responses, and pitch presentations to win new business.

  • Collaborate with leadership to set and achieve revenue growth targets.

  • Track and report on business development activities and pipeline progress.


Team Leadership & Development

  • Lead and mentor a team of event coordinators, executives, and support staff.

  • Foster a collaborative, solutions-oriented culture focused on creativity and excellence.

  • Provide coaching, feedback, and professional development opportunities to grow team skills and capabilities.

  • Allocate resources effectively to ensure efficiency and high performance.


Financial Management

  • Build and manage event budgets, ensuring cost efficiency and profitability.

  • Track and control expenses across all event activities.

  • Forecast revenue and provide regular financial updates to leadership.

  • Maximize ROI for both clients and the agency.


Post-Event Reporting

  • Conduct comprehensive event evaluations, capturing success metrics and lessons learned.

  • Deliver detailed reports including audience data, engagement insights, and client feedback.

  • Recommend improvements to enhance future event performance.


Required Skills & Qualifications

Education & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Event Management, Marketing, Business, Communications, or related field.

  • 5-7 years of experience in event management, with at least 2 years in a senior leadership role.

  • Proven track record of delivering large-scale events and winning new business through pitches and networking.

Technical Skills

  • Strong understanding of event production, logistics, and vendor management.

  • Knowledge of event tech platforms for registration, engagement, and analytics.

  • Proficiency in budgeting, forecasting, and financial management tools.

  • Familiarity with project management and CRM tools.
