Work Arrangement: Remote (with occasional reimbursed onsite travel)
Location: Remote (U.S. based only) - Will be expected to travel occasionally for a Monday through Friday onsite.
Duration: 6 Months | 1,040 Total Hours
Work Authorization: U.S. Citizens or Green Card holders only.
Engagement Type: W-2 only. No sponsorships, Corp-to-Corp, or 1099 arrangements permitted.
Overview:
The client is seeking an Enterprise Architect for Commercial Lending to play a pivotal role in shaping the organizations technology strategy, landscape, and roadmap. Serving as an integrative force across business and technology domains, this role establishes trusted advisor partnerships with senior leaders and drives the architecture of complex, high-priority initiatives that deliver significant business value. The Enterprise Architects work will influence large-scale programs that are critical to the clients long-term success, ensuring scalable, resilient, and forward-looking solutions.
Key Responsibilities:
- Strategic Planning: Define and evolve enterprise architecture strategies and roadmaps that align business priorities, regulatory requirements, and long-term technology vision.
- High-Level Design: Develop architectural models and frameworks that support secure, scalable, and resilient solutions across the enterprise, aligned with the strategic direction established by the Enterprise Architecture function.
- Detailed Solutions Architecture: Translate strategic objectives into actionable solution architectures for delivery and engineering teams.
- Regulatory & Risk Alignment: Ensure architectural solutions comply with financial industry regulations, internal risk frameworks, and data privacy standards.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with business leaders, product owners, and technology teams to ensure alignment across commercial lending, client services, digital platforms, and core banking systems.
- Implementation Leadership: Provide architectural oversight and governance throughout the delivery lifecycle, ensuring adherence to standards and successful on-time execution.
- Trusted Advisor: Build strong relationships with management, providing expert architectural insights.
- Communication: Clearly convey complex architectural concepts to technical and non-technical audiences.
- Vendor & Partner Engagement: Collaborate with technology providers and service partners to ensure solutions meet enterprise standards for performance, cost-effectiveness, and agility.

Expected Knowledge:
- In-depth knowledge of financial services domains, especially commercial lending: loans, lines of credit, leveraged finance, syndications, participations, leases, equipment finance, dealer floor plan, and asset-based lending.
- Familiarity with commercial lending origination and servicing platforms such as nCino, AFS Vision, and Bottomline Treasury Management Systems.
- Knowledge of adjacent systems supporting customers, collateral, construction loan administration, and dealer finance.
- Understanding of modern architectures (cloud, microservices, APIs, data platforms, integration patterns).
- Awareness of cybersecurity, privacy standards, and secure architecture practices.
- Knowledge of regulatory/compliance standards (FFIEC, SOX, GLBA, GDPR).
- Proficiency with architectural modeling tools and standards.
- Knowledge of IT governance, portfolio management, and enterprise change management.
- Data architecture concepts including governance, MDM, and analytics.
- Emerging technologies and their financial sector impact.
- Agile, DevOps, and product-centric delivery models.
Qualifications:
- Bachelors degree in Computer Science, IT, Engineering, or related field.
- 7+ years in cloud architecture, with at least 3+ years focused on commercial lending technology within a financial institution.
- Knowledge of institutional banking products including capital markets, investment management, structured finance, and M&A.
- Experience delivering innovation within financial services.
- Strong working knowledge of architecture diagramming practices, frameworks, and enterprise tools.
- Experience in software engineering, solution delivery, and systems integration using enterprise architecture principles and patterns.

- High-Level Design Documents: Comprehensive documentation for major initiatives aligned with enterprise standards.
- Architecture Principles & Standards: Defined guidelines ensuring consistency, scalability, and compliance.
- Technology Assessments & Recommendations: Evaluations of emerging platforms or vendors with recommendations.
- Gap Analyses & Impact Assessments: Identifying gaps between current and future states and assessing business/technical implications.
- Stakeholder Presentations & Briefings: Executive-level updates to communicate progress and outcomes.
- Reference Architectures & Patterns: Reusable templates that accelerate delivery and ensure consistency.
