Location: Remote (U.S.-based only)
Duration: 7-month contract (1,360 total hours)

Engagement Type: W-2 only no Corp-to-Corp (C2C) or 1099 arrangements permitted

Overview:

Our client is seeking two Mortgage Processor I professionals to ensure that new loan applications are properly prepared for processing or underwriting in a timely and compliant manner. The role combines both clerical and technical responsibilities and plays a key part in providing a seamless borrower experience.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Maintain effective communication with borrowers, brokers, correspondents, loan officers, and internal teams to ensure a smooth and positive application experience
  • Coordinate with both internal departments and external organizations to collect key documentation (e.g., Verifications of Employment, IRS transcripts, title searches, appraisals, FHA case assignments)
  • Notify appropriate parties of any irregularities found relative to standard mortgage guidelines
  • Prepare and reconcile required reports accurately and in a timely manner
  • Monitor all incoming loan conditions through various channels (email, fax, mail) and update loan systems accordingly
  • Review systems to ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements and internal guidelines
  • Adhere to company and regulatory compliance/operational risk controls and policies
  • Support diversity and uphold the values and professional standards of the client
  • Complete other related tasks as assigned

Scope of Responsibilities:

Work closely with both internal and external customers including co-workers, borrowers, loan officers, brokers, and correspondents to ensure quality and timeliness in loan processing.

Required Education and Experience:

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Minimum of 1 year experience in clerical, customer service, operations, or financial services
  • Proficient PC skills with working knowledge of word processing, spreadsheets, and email software
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to make sound decisions and function independently within time constraints
  • Knowledge of mortgage product, investor, and compliance requirements
  • Adaptability in a fast-paced, evolving mortgage environment

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Associates Degree
  • Familiarity with loan processing platforms and workflow systems
