Work Arrangement: Remote (with occasional onsite travel - reimbursed)
Location: Remote (U.S. based only) - Will be expected to travel once every 4-6 weeks for a Monday through Thursday onsite interval.
Duration: 6 Months | 1,040 Total Hours
Work Authorization: U.S. Citizens or Green Card holders only.
Engagement Type: W-2 only. No sponsorships, Corp-to-Corp, or 1099 arrangements permitted.

Job Summary

As an Enterprise Solutions Architect for Institutional Client Services (ICS) at the client, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the organizations technology strategy, landscape, and roadmap. In this role, you will serve as an integrative force across business and technology domains, establish trusted advisor partnerships with senior leaders, and drive the architecture of complex, high-priority initiatives that deliver significant business value. Your work will influence large-scale programs critical to the clients long-term success, ensuring scalable, resilient, and forward-looking solutions.

Overview:

The client is seeking an Enterprise Solutions Architect to document, visualize, and articulate the overall technical health, current state, and future state of enterprise architecture in collaboration with domain leadership. This role will help develop roadmaps, align domain strategies with enterprise-wide standards, and ensure technology decisions are strategically sound. The Enterprise Solutions Architect will also provide thought leadership, governance, and consultation to leadership teams while ensuring compliance with enterprise architecture frameworks.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Strategic Planning: Define and evolve enterprise architecture strategies and roadmaps that align business priorities, regulatory requirements, and long-term technology vision.
  • High-Level Design: Develop architectural models and frameworks that support secure, scalable, and resilient solutions across complex financial ecosystems.
  • Detailed Solutions Architecture: Translate strategic objectives into actionable solution architectures for delivery and engineering teams.
  • Regulatory & Risk Alignment: Ensure architectural solutions comply with financial industry regulations, internal risk frameworks, and data privacy standards.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with business leaders, product owners, and technology teams to ensure alignment across client services, digital platforms, and core banking systems.
  • Implementation Leadership: Provide architectural oversight and governance throughout solution delivery, ensuring adherence to standards and timely execution.
  • Trusted Advisor: Build strong relationships with leadership, providing expert insights to guide decision-making.
  • Vendor & Partner Engagement: Collaborate with technology providers and partners to ensure solutions meet enterprise standards for performance, compliance, and agility.
  • Maintain reference materials for delivery teams to ensure consistent, compliant solutions.
  • Participate in strategic planning and design initiatives requiring architecture guidance.
  • Ensure compliance with risk and regulatory standards, policies, and controls.
  • Foster a collaborative, inclusive team environment that reflects the clients values.
  • Complete additional duties as assigned, including vendor evaluations, due diligence, and cost/benefit analysis.

Expected Skills & Knowledge:

  • Strategic thinking and business acumen in financial services, especially institutional banking.
  • Proficiency in enterprise architecture frameworks (TOGAF, Zachman).
  • Solution design across scalable and secure architectures.
  • Integration experience across platforms, APIs, and data sources.
  • Awareness of cybersecurity principles, regulatory/compliance standards (FFIEC, SOX, GLBA, GDPR).
  • Experience with architectural modeling tools, IT governance, and enterprise change management.
  • Knowledge of cloud, microservices, APIs, data platforms, and integration patterns.
  • Ability to communicate and visualize complex concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Continuous learning mindset; familiarity with emerging technologies and Agile/DevOps models.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelors degree in Computer Science, IT, Engineering, or related field; or 11+ years of combined higher education and work experience.
  • 7+ years in architecture, with at least 3 years focused on cloud (Azure hybrid preferred).
  • Experience in software engineering, delivery, and/or solution architecture.
  • Strong communication skills, with experience engaging senior leadership.
  • Preferred: Graduate degree, certifications in cloud and enterprise architecture frameworks, financial services industry experience, and multi-role background in banking technology.

  • Reference Architectures & Patterns: Reusable templates that accelerate solution delivery.
