Compensation: $139,800 base + up to 10% bonus
Relocation: Offered
Travel: Minimal (1–2 times per year)

Role Summary

We are seeking a Digital Technology Data Scientist Lead to drive advanced analytics and machine learning initiatives that directly impact business performance. This is a hands-on individual contributor role for a senior data scientist who excels at translating business problems into data-driven solutions and communicating insights in a compelling, actionable way.

This position operates within a Data Science Center of Excellence, requiring strong collaboration across business functions and the ability to influence stakeholders through data storytelling and technical expertise.


Work Location Expectations

  • Oshkosh, WI (Strongly Preferred): 3 days onsite / 2 days remote

Remote Consideration: For highly qualified candidates within driving distance of Oshkosh — 25% onsite / 75% remote

  • Frederick, MD: Hybrid (3 days onsite / 2 days remote)


Key Responsibilities

Analyze and interpret structured and unstructured data using statistical methods, machine learning, and advanced programming

Partner with business stakeholders to gather requirements, design solutions, and deliver measurable business impact

Build and deploy complex predictive models and ML algorithms into operational systems

Translate technical findings into clear, compelling stories for both technical and non-technical audiences

  • Lead data science workstreams including:

    • Model development and validation

    • Data quality improvements

    • Incident troubleshooting and root cause resolution

Collaborate cross-functionally with data engineers, architects, analysts, and business leaders

Mentor team members and promote data science best practices

Contribute to the enterprise data science strategy and roadmap

Support supply chain–related analytics initiatives

Required Technical Skills

Candidates must clearly demonstrate hands-on experience with:

  • Azure Databricks

  • Python

  • Spark

  • Power BI

  • Microsoft Office (advanced Excel, pivot tables)

  • Statistical modeling and machine learning

  • Data processing across large, complex datasets

Professional Experience Requirements

  • Strong track record of:

    • Working directly with business stakeholders

    • Translating business needs into analytical solutions

    • Communicating impact in business terms

Exceptional communication and presentation skills

Ability to tell a story with data

Comfortable operating in a highly collaborative, cross-functional environment

Experience in supply chain analytics is important

Industry Background Preferred

Other industries such as healthcare, retail, or biotech may be considered.
Heavy financial services backgrounds are not preferred.

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelors degree + 5 years of relevant experience

OR

Masters degree + 3 years of relevant experience


Standout / Nice-to-Have Qualifications

Masters or PhD in Data Science, Statistics, Computer Science, or related field

Experience with Microsoft Power Platform

Familiarity with Large Language Models (LLMs)

Knowledge of Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) architectures

Experience developing front-end data apps (Flask, Gradio, etc.)
