Mechanical Project Engineer

Job Overview

The Project Mechanical Engineer role involves driving continuous improvement efforts across various engineering disciplines. This position requires making critical decisions that impact projects and engineering initiatives.

This engineer will develop and foster a culture of innovation, accountability, and process improvement among team members. 

Responsibilities include:

Managing an engineering team consisting of Engineers, Designers, and Technicians.
Planning, directing, and coordinating activities of the engineering team.
Providing coaching and development for team members through regular performance feedback, technical training opportunities, and individual development plans.
Preparing and controlling department budgets, forecasting operating costs, and directing budget requests.
Understanding market share and P&L for product lines.

The successful candidate will have strong mechanical knowledge of automotive or heavy-vehicle equipment and related systems. Experience with high-level CAD systems is also required.
