Position Summary:
The Business Development Manager is responsible for driving new client acquisition, account growth, and long-term client relationships. This role oversees the full commercial lifecycle—from prospecting and deal closure to client relationship management and account expansion—ensuring engagements are profitable, scalable, and sustainable. Success is measured by revenue growth, client satisfaction, and account retention, rather than sales activity alone.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Sales Pipeline Development & Lead Generation

  • Proactively generate and qualify leads through direct outreach, referrals, partnerships, and networking.
  • Build and maintain a sustainable sales pipeline to support business growth targets.
  • Qualify prospects based on deal size, budget, decision-making authority, and operational feasibility.
  • Maintain 3–4× pipeline coverage relative to monthly growth targets.

2. New Client Acquisition & Deal Closure

  • Convert qualified leads into signed agreements.
  • Lead pricing discussions, negotiations, and contract finalization.
  • Ensure all deals meet company standards for pricing, margin, and deliverability.

3. Account Activation & Revenue Growth

  • Drive account activation in line with operational readiness.
  • Ensure accounts transition smoothly into active service and billing.
  • Monitor timelines, revenue realization, and monthly growth metrics.

4. Client Relationship & Account Management

  • Serve as the primary commercial contact for assigned clients.
  • Build strong, trust-based relationships with key stakeholders.
  • Conduct regular check-ins and structured business reviews.
  • Identify risks early and coordinate resolution with internal teams.
  • Ensure account stability and client retention through proactive engagement.

5. Account Expansion & Growth Strategy

  • Identify upsell and expansion opportunities within existing accounts.
  • Propose additional services, roles, or team expansions.
  • Target regular account growth opportunities, prioritizing high-performing clients.
  • Present data-driven recommendations to clients and leadership.

6. Sales Forecasting, Analytics & Reporting

  • Maintain accurate forecasts, pipeline reports, and account projections.
  • Track lead-to-close ratios, activation timelines, and expansion performance.
  • Provide regular reports with high forecast accuracy.
  • Analyze performance to identify gaps and improvement opportunities.

7. Risk Management & Compliance

  • Ensure all contracts and commitments comply with company policies and legal standards.
  • Avoid overselling, misrepresentation, or high-risk deals.
  • Validate feasibility with relevant teams before deal closure.
  • Uphold ethical sales practices, data privacy, and confidentiality standards.

8. Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Align with HR on resourcing and account staffing.
  • Coordinate with Operations on onboarding and service delivery.
  • Partner with Finance on billing accuracy and revenue tracking.
  • Support leadership in planning, review, and strategic initiatives.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • 3–6 years in B2B sales, business development, or outsourcing.
  • Must have at least 1 year of BPO sales manager experience.
  • Proven track record of closing service-based or seat-based deals.
  • Experience managing international clients (AU/US preferred).
  • Strong client relationship and account management skills.
  • Excellent analytical, negotiation, and communication skills.
