Job Summary:
We are looking for a highly motivated and detail-oriented Accountant to join our Finance team. This role is crucial in ensuring accurate financial reporting, maintaining compliance with tax regulations, and managing both payables and receivables. As part of a dynamic and growing startup, the successful candidate will be expected to contribute to the continuous improvement of our financial processes. A Certified Public Accountant (CPA) is required for this role, and having a Certified Tax Technician (CTT) certification is a strong advantage.
Key Responsibilities:
Accounts Payable (AP):
- Process supplier invoices, ensuring accuracy and timely payment
- Validate and match invoices with purchase orders and receipts
- Manage and schedule payments (online banking, check payments, etc.)
- Maintain vendor records and resolve discrepancies or inquiries
- Ensure compliance with local tax laws and BIR documentation
Accounts Receivable (AR):
- Generate client invoices and ensure timely billing
- Prepare aging reports and maintain accurate client records
- Reconcile incoming payments
Finance & Administration:
- Assist in month-end financial closing and reporting
- Support audits, internal reviews, and compliance documentation
- Contribute to improving financial systems and workflow
- Perform other administrative tasks as needed within the finance team
- Manage and monitor the petty cash fund, ensuring proper documentation and approval for disbursements
- Ensure all deposits, withdrawals, and fees are accurately recorded
- Prepare and process monthly contributions for SSS, PhilHealth, and Pag-IBIG
Qualifications:
- Bachelors degree in Accountancy, Finance, or a related field
- At least 3 years of experience in general accounting, including accounts payable and receivable
- Certified Public Accountant (CPA) required; Certified Tax Technician (CTT) is a strong advantage
- In-depth knowledge of Philippine taxation laws and BIR compliance
- Familiarity with Philippine labor and statutory regulations, including SSS, PhilHealth, Pag-IBIG, and other government requirements
- Experience in handling petty cash, bank transactions, and performing bank reconciliations
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel and accounting software such as QuickBooks, Xero, or similar platforms
- Excellent organizational and analytical skills, with strong attention to detail
- Driven, proactive, and career-oriented, with a strong desire to grow and take ownership in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple responsibilities in a startup setting
- Strong communication skills and a collaborative, team-oriented mindset
