Senior Estimator

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Senior Estimator with experience in the Aluminium Window and Door Industry. The ideal candidate will be responsible for conducting accurate take-offs, preparing detailed bills of quantities, and managing the end-to-end estimation process for commercial window, door, and glazing projects. This role requires proficiency in construction estimating software, excellent organizational skills, and strong communication abilities.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Tender Document Analysis:
• Review and analyze tender drawings and specifications to understand project requirements.
2. Take-Offs & Bill of Quantities:
• Conduct accurate and timely take-offs.
• Prepare detailed and accurate bills of quantities.
3. Estimation Process Management:
• Independently manage the estimation process, including providing inputs towards establishing and continually improving estimation processes/systems, and implementing those systems.
• Conduct the end-to-end estimation process for commercial window, door, and glazing projects.
• Ensure accuracy and professionalism in all estimations.
4. Estimations & Project Budgets:
• Compose and submit detailed estimations from architectural plans.
• Develop comprehensive project budgets.
5. Stakeholder Communication:
• Facilitate clear communication with internal stakeholders to ensure project requirements are understood and met.
6. Record Keeping:
• Keep thorough records of all quotes and project summaries for efficient project tracking and management.
7. Shop Drawings & Production Reports:
• Create detailed and accurate shop drawings.
• Generate procurement reports, work orders, and cutting/assembly lists for production.
8. Software Proficiency:
• Demonstrate proficiency with MS Office and construction estimating software such as AutoCAD and Orgadata Logikal.

Qualifications:

• Minimum 3 years of estimating experience in the Aluminium Window and Door Industry.
• Proficiency in construction estimating software, including AutoCAD
• Proficiency in Orgadata Logikal estimating software is a plus.
• Knowledge of Australian building codes, regulations, and standards (AS1288 & AS2047).
• High proficiency in software for estimating, quotations, and project tracking.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
• Strong organizational skills and punctuality.
• Self-motivated and capable of managing time effectively
• Meticulous attention to detail, ensuring no aspect is overlooked.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
