Job Summary:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Accounts Payable Specialist. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in accounting, with at least two years of experience in accounts payable, and possess proficiency in accounting software and financial analysis tools. As an Accounts Payable Specialist, you will be responsible for processing invoices, ensuring accurate payments, and maintaining financial records to support the overall financial health of the organization
Key Responsibilities:
- Process and review all accounts payable transactions, ensuring they are accurate and compliant with company policies and procedures.
- Verify the accuracy of invoices, coding, and documentation before processing payments.
- Prepare and manage payments to vendors, ensuring timely and accurate disbursements.
- Reconcile vendor statements and resolve discrepancies or payment issues.
- Maintain organized records of accounts payable transactions for future reference and audits.
- Assist in monthly and year-end closing processes, ensuring all accounts payable entries are properly recorded.
- Monitor accounts payable aging and ensure timely payments to maintain vendor relationships.
- Collaborate with other departments to resolve issues related to invoices, payments, or discrepancies.
- Use accounting software (e.g., Xero, QuickBooks, SAP) to input and track transactions.
- Assist in generating reports for internal financial analysis and management reviews.
- Maintain a strong understanding of accounting principles and apply them in day-to-day tasks.
Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelors degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- Experience: At least 2 years of experience in accounts payable or a similar financial role.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., Xero, QuickBooks, SAP).
- Microsoft Excel: Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel for data analysis, reporting, and creating financial spreadsheets.
- Accounting Knowledge: Solid understanding of accounting principles, financial processes, and controls.
- Attention to Detail: Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy in processing financial transactions.
- Organizational Skills: Excellent organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.
- Communication Skills: Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with vendors and internal teams.
