Job Description:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Junior Estimator to join our growing team. The successful candidate will assist in the preparation of cost estimates, project bids, and quantity take-offs, supporting the Estimation team in delivering accurate and timely information. This role requires a strong understanding of construction processes, estimating software, and excellent communication skills.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in preparing detailed cost estimates for construction projects, ensuring accuracy and competitiveness.
- Perform quantity take-offs using software tools such as Bluebeam, Planswift, or similar estimating programs.
- Analyze project drawings, specifications, and other documentation to prepare accurate cost projections.
- Support the Senior Estimator in developing bid proposals, project budgets, and cost breakdowns.
- Conduct market research to obtain accurate pricing information from suppliers and subcontractors.
- Ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, and industry standards.
- Prepare and maintain detailed reports, logs, and documentation related to estimation.
- Assist in the management of project timelines and schedules related to cost estimation.
- Collaborate with the engineering and procurement teams to provide updates and ensure alignment of cost estimates with project requirements.
- Communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders to clarify project details and requirements.
Qualifications:
- At least 2 years of experience as an Engineer, Quantity Surveyor, or Estimator in the construction industry.
- Proficiency in estimating software such as Bluebeam, Planswift, or similar programs.
- Strong knowledge of construction processes, materials, and methods.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook, etc.).
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
