Position: Senior Estimator
Schedule: 7:00 AM to 4:00 PM | Monday to Friday

The Role

This role is responsible for supporting the Estimating team with tendering activities and documentation while ensuring accuracy, compliance and alignment with client's standards.

Key Responsibilities

Tendering

  • Interpret tender documentation to understand client requirements and expectations
  • Prepare detailed trade take-offs for Bills of Quantities (BOQs)
  • Review and interpret specifications within tender documents
  • Identify key risks and opportunities within each tender
  • Develop accurate direct cost estimates, including overheads and final pricing schedules
  • Review and understand all subcontractor quotations, including inclusions and exclusions
  • Ensure all tender submissions are completed within required deadlines
  • Conduct final reviews of tender documents prior to submission
  • Participate in post-project completion reviews
  • Contribute to the ongoing development of the master resource library

Document Management

  • Maintain accurate and organized tender files, including all correspondence and documentation
  • Ensure all incoming and outgoing tender packages are properly recorded and filed
  • Manage internal and external documents within the tendering process

Key Skills & Experience

Professional

  • Proven track record of contributing to successful (winning) tender strategies
  • Experience across commercial construction sectors, including:
    • Education
    • Retail
    • Healthcare
    • Aged Care
    • Office developments
  • Demonstrated experience in estimating for:
    • New builds
    • Fit-outs
    • Refurbishments
    • Remediation projects

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering (preferred); and/or
  • Formal qualifications in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or a related discipline; or
  • Trade background with substantial experience in an estimating role
  • Strong communication skills both verbal and written
