Role Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced AU Payroll Specialist responsible for managing end-to-end Australian payroll processing. The role ensures accurate, timely, and compliant payroll operations in accordance with Australian tax laws, Fair Work regulations, and company policies.
The ideal candidate has strong payroll experience, high attention to detail, and familiarity with AU payroll systems and compliance requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Process end-to-end Australian payroll on a regular pay cycle (weekly/fortnightly/monthly)
- Ensure compliance with Australian taxation laws, Fair Work Act, and Superannuation regulations
- Maintain accurate employee payroll records, including new hires, terminations, and changes
- Calculate wages, overtime, allowances, deductions, and leave entitlements
- Manage superannuation contributions and statutory reporting requirements
- Handle payroll queries from employees in a timely and professional manner
- Reconcile payroll reports and ensure accuracy before final submission
- Prepare and submit payroll reports, PAYG summaries, and related documentation
- Coordinate with HR and Finance for payroll-related updates and audits
- Ensure confidentiality and security of payroll data at all times
Qualifications
- Proven experience as a Payroll Specialist, ideally with AU payroll exposure
- Strong knowledge of Australian payroll legislation and compliance requirements
- Experience using payroll systems (e.g., Xero, MYOB, ADP, Employment Hero, or similar)
- High attention to detail and strong numerical accuracy
- Excellent organizational and time management skills
- Strong communication skills for handling employee queries
- Ability to work independently and meet strict deadlines
- Experience with superannuation and tax reporting processes
