Role Overview

The Construction Superintendent supports the contractor delivering construction projects across the Middle East for U.S. government projects.

This is a site-based construction superintendent role focused on field execution, trade coordination, safety, quality, and schedule delivery within a secure overseas aviation and industrial construction environment.

Role Summary

The Construction Superintendent serves as the contractor's senior on-site construction authority responsible for daily field execution during construction. The role focuses on supervising subcontractors and field crews, enforcing sequencing and work planning, coordinating across multiple trades, and ensuring compliance with contract documents, safety requirements, and schedule milestones, particularly on military aviation and hangar-type facilities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Direct and manage all on-site construction activities for the Helicopter Maintenance Facility, including civil, structural, architectural, mechanical, electrical, and aviation-related systems.
  • Supervise subcontractors and field crews to ensure work is executed in accordance with approved plans, specifications, and schedules.
  • Enforce proper sequencing, work planning, and coordination across multiple trades in an active overseas construction environment.
  • Implement and manage the approved construction schedule, identify execution risks, and support recovery planning as needed.
  • Coordinate daily and weekly work plans with subcontractors and project controls staff.
  • Monitor labor productivity, equipment utilization, and material deliveries to support schedule and cost performance.
  • Ensure compliance with USACE contract requirements, EM 385-1-1 safety standards, and applicable Unified Facilities Criteria (UFC).
  • Coordinate closely with the Quality Control Manager to resolve field issues, deficiencies, and punch list items.
  • Support inspections, testing, and acceptance activities conducted by USACE.
  • Enforce site safety plans and job hazard analyses in accordance with EM 385-1-1 requirements.
  • Maintain situational awareness and compliance with host-nation and U.S. Government security protocols.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for daily field coordination with the USACE Resident Engineer.
  • Participate in daily production meetings, weekly coordination meetings, and progress reviews.
  • Provide accurate daily reports, progress updates, and issue logs to the Project Manager.

Required Qualifications

  • Minimum 10+ years of construction field leadership experience, including service as a Superintendent on large-scale facilities projects
  • Prior international or overseas construction experience, preferably in secure or austere environments
  • Ability to work effectively in an overseas, secure construction environment
  • Strong coordination, leadership, and field communication skills in English

Preferred / Desired Qualifications

  • Demonstrated experience on U.S. Government construction projects, preferably military or secure facilities
  • Demonstrated experience with one or more of the following project types or agencies:
    • USACE vertical or aviation-related projects
    • NAVFAC, AFCEC, or Overseas Buildings Operations (OBO) projects
    • Military aviation, hangar, or mission-critical facilities
  • Strong working knowledge of EM 385-1-1 safety requirements and USACE construction processes
  • Unified Facilities Criteria (UFC)
  • USACE construction processes and submittal workflows
  • Ability to read and interpret complex construction drawings and specifications

Compensation & Benefits

  • Base salary: USD $85,000–$110,000 annually
  • Housing: Provided
