Role Overview
The Safety Manager supports the contractor delivering construction projects across Micronesia for U.S. government projects.

Key Responsibilities

  • Implement and enforce the approved Accident Prevention Plan (APP).
  • Serve as the primary safety point of contact with USACE representatives.
  • Prepare, review, and manage Activity Hazard Analyses (AHAs).
  • Conduct daily safety inspections and track corrective actions through closure.
  • Lead safety meetings, new-hire orientations, and toolbox talks.
  • Act as the Competent Person for applicable high-risk construction activities.
  • Manage incident reporting, investigations, and required documentation.
  • Maintain safety records, reports, and logs in accordance with contract requirements.
  • Support emergency response planning and participate in drills as required.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Minimum five (5) years of construction safety experience.
  • Demonstrated working knowledge of USACE EM 385-1-1.
  • Experience developing and executing Accident Prevention Plans (APPs) and Activity Hazard Analyses (AHAs).
  • Ability to work independently as the on-site safety authority.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Prior experience on federal or USACE construction projects.
  • Safety certifications such as CHST, CSP, ASP, or OHST.
  • Overseas, remote, or logistically challenging project experience.
  • Strong communication and leadership skills.

Compensation & Benefits

  • Base salary range: USD $50,000–$85,000 annually, dependent on experience.
  • Housing provided.
  • Food stipend provided.
  • Additional uplifts may apply based on project conditions.
