JOB OVERVIEW 

We are looking for an experienced Electrical Estimator to evaluate the costs of electrical installations in industrial and residential projects. Youll estimate materials, labor, and equipment costs, prepare competitive quotes, and help improve estimating processes to reduce discrepancies between projected and actual costs.

Responsibilities:

  • Analyze blueprints to determine wire lengths, outlet placements, and electrical code compliance.
  • Estimate the materials, fixtures, and labor required for each project, ensuring accuracy in cost assessments.
  • Provide accurate timeframes for project completion based on scope and resources.
  • Prepare and submit competitive project quotes in alignment with client requirements and budget guidelines.
  • Call clients to ask probing questions, clarify project details, and refine scope of work to ensure accurate estimates.
  • Communicate with suppliers to gather pricing information and assess product availability, securing competitive rates for materials and equipment.
  • Regularly update cost databases to reflect current market prices for materials and labor.
  • Evaluate whether its more feasible to construct electrical components in-house or subcontract the work.
  • Perform take-offs for pipework, ductwork, and electrical cable containment.
  • Collaborate with engineers and other team members to refine project estimates and scopes.
  • Assist management with administrative tasks and customer service as needed during downtime.

Requirements:

  • A bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Electrical Engineering, or a related field (preferred).
  • Proven experience in electrical estimating, with a strong understanding of the US electrical system.
  • Proficiency in interpreting electrical blueprints and technical drawings.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent English communication and customer service skills.
  • Detail-oriented with a focus on accuracy.
