Automation & RMM Engineer

Job Overview

This is an excellent opportunity for a self-motivated IT professional who thrives on owning the entire automation lifecyclefrom research and scripting to testing and deployment. The Automation & RMM Engineer role is ideal for someone who enjoys working behind the scenes to design, build, and maintain efficient backend systems and Remote Monitoring and Management (RMM) automations.

Key Responsibilities:

• Automation Ownership: Take loosely defined objectives and independently research, design, and implement complete automation solutions.
• Scripting: Develop scripts using PowerShell, Python, or other languages for internal and client-focused automation, system maintenance, and integrations.
• RMM Scripting & Automation: Build and enhance RMM scripts, automation packages, and scheduled tasks for proactive maintenance and endpoint oversight.
• Monitoring Configuration: Maintain and optimize RMM policies, alerts, and inventory data to ensure visibility, reliability, and business alignment.
• Testing & Documentation: Deliver well-documented, testable automation processes that are easy for others to maintain or update.

Qualifications:

• 4+ years of experience in IT support, automation, or DevOps roles.
• Proficiency in scripting languages, particularly PowerShell and JavaScript; Python or Bash experience is a plus.
• Hands-on experience integrating systems via APIs, webhooks, or command-line tools.
• Strong knowledge of Microsoft Windows environments, including Server, Active Directory, DNS, and Group Policy.
• Familiarity with Microsoft 365, Exchange Online, and Azure AD.
• Ability to work independently on long-term projects with limited oversight, while communicating progress effectively.
• Excellent written communication skills, especially for documentation and task updates.

Preferred Skills

• Experience with automation platforms such as Power Automate, Rewst, or n8n.
• Hands-on knowledge of NinjaRMM.
• Understanding of patch management, alerting strategies, and backend server tuning.
• Familiarity with Git version control and CI/CD pipeline processes.
