Responsibilities
- Assist with the preparation of cost segregation studies, including the classification of building components into appropriate asset categories.
- Analyze fixed asset data, construction cost records, and architectural/engineering drawings.
- Support the calculation of depreciation deductions under U.S. tax law, including MACRS, ADS, and bonus depreciation.
- Review and interpret construction plans, specifications, and project documentation.
- Conduct data entry, reconciliation, and quality control for client deliverables.
- Collaborate with engineering, tax, and consulting team members to ensure accurate and timely project completion.
- Participate in ongoing training to develop expertise in U.S. tax depreciation, construction methodologies, and cost segregation standards.
- Provide data entry and analytical support for other service lines as needed, such as Research & Development (R&D) Tax Credit studies.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, Engineering, or any relevant field
- Must have knowledge of US tax concepts related to fixed assets, depreciation, and real estate
- Proficient with US measurement systems (imperial units) and basic construction cost estimating
- Knowledge of IRS depreciation rules, MACRS/ADS, and bonus depreciation.
- Exposure to cost segregation or fixed asset consulting
- Experience working with AutoCAD, Bluebeam, STACK, or other plan-reading/measurement software
- Familiarity with construction terminology and methods
- Ability to read and interpret building plans, drawings, and specifications
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other standard office applications.
- Amenable to work in a Hybrid set-up
- Willing to work the night shift
