Position Overview

We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive QA Test Engineer to join our team. The ideal candidate will have strong experience in manual testing, test case creation, integration/API validation, and a solid understanding of QA methodologies. The role requires both technical expertise and strong soft skills to ensure product quality, effective collaboration, and clear communication across teams.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop, execute, and maintain test cases for web and mobile applications.
  • Spot issues outside of given instructions and raise risks or gaps early.
  • Conduct integration and API testing using Postman or similar tools.
  • Validate data flow across upstream and downstream systems and set up realistic test data.
  • Perform functional, regression, and exploratory testing across platforms (web/mobile responsive).
  • Document test results, bugs, and root causes with clarity, ensuring reproducibility.
  • Log and track defects in JIRA/QTest and link them to relevant user stories.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams (developers, business analysts, product owners) to ensure high-quality releases.
  • Apply testing methodologies and best practices for efficient and consistent QA cycles.
  • Participate in sprint ceremonies, provide QA updates, and own the quality assurance process end-to-end.
  • Support automation efforts where possible using Selenium or equivalent frameworks.
  • Ensure compliance with bug quality metrics, testing velocity, and team quality standards.

Required Skills & Qualifications

Technical Skills (Must Have)

  • Strong hands-on experience in creating and executing test cases.
  • Deep understanding of testing methodologies, QA best practices, and SDLC/STLC.
  • Ability to perform integration testing and validate API/system interactions.
  • Experience working with JIRA/QTest for defect management and test traceability.
  • Strong knowledge of data validation and system information flow.
  • Skilled in documenting issues, steps, and test processes for future references.
  • Basic technical knowledge of element inspection, network monitoring, and other debugging tools.
  • Knowledge of bug quality metrics and testing velocity KPIs.

Technical Skills (Nice to Have)

  • Familiarity with Postman or equivalent API testing tools.
  • Exposure to automated testing frameworks (e.g., Selenium).

Soft Skills (Must Have)

  • Critical Thinking: Ability to spot gaps in requirements and flag risks.
  • Communication: Explain bugs clearly, escalate concerns, and provide updates in meetings.
  • Collaboration: Work effectively with developers, product teams, and other stakeholders.
  • Ownership: Take responsibility for the quality of deliverables, avoid assumptions, and seek clarity.
  • Adaptability/Flexibility: Quickly learn business context, handle context switching, and support multiple applications.
  • Clarity & Documentation: Clearly communicate processes, results, and issues.

Preferred Experience

  • 25 years of QA testing experience in web and mobile applications.
  • Experience in agile environments (Scrum/Kanban).
  • Familiarity with healthcare, retail, or enterprise application testing (bonus).
