Job brief

Safety Officer cum Environmental Control Officer (ECO) is responsible for ensuring workplace safety and environmental compliance on construction projects. The role combines Workplace Safety and Health (WSH) management with environmental protection duties, ensuring the project complies with regulatory requirements and company safety policies

Responsibilities

• Workplace Safety Management
• Implement and enforce Workplace Safety and Health (WSH) policies and procedures on site.
• Conduct site safety inspections, risk assessments, and hazard identification.
• Ensure workers follow safe work procedures and proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
• Investigate accidents, incidents, and near misses, and recommend corrective actions
• Environmental Control & Compliance
  
• Monitor environmental impact of construction activities including noise, dust, vibration, and waste management.
• Ensure site activities comply with environmental regulations from the National Environment Agency.
• Implement environmental control measures such as dust suppression, proper waste disposal, and pollution prevention.
• Regulatory Compliance
• Ensure compliance with workplace safety regulations from the
  Ministry of Manpower and the Building and Construction Authority.
• Prepare and maintain required safety and environmental documentation.
• Support safety audits, inspections, and authority visits
• Training & Safety Awareness
  
• Conduct toolbox meetings (TBM) and safety briefings for workers and subcontractors.
• Provide training on risk assessments, method statements, and emergency procedures.
• Promote safety culture and environmental awareness on site.

Requirements

• Registered Workplace Safety and Health Officer (WSHO) in Singapore.
• Certified Environmental Control Officer (ECO).
• Diploma or Degree in Safety, Environmental Management, Engineering, or Construction Management.
• 3–8 years of safety management experience in construction projects.
