About the job Senior HSE Engineer | Chemical MNC | Jurong Island

Jobscope:

  • Lead and conduct Process Hazard Analysis (PHA), Management of Change (MOC) reviews, and Pre-Startup Safety Reviews (PSSR).
  • Implement and manage LOTO (Lock Out Tag Out) systems for safe equipment maintenance.
  • Coordinate equipment walkdowns, punch listing, and handover from EPC contractors.
  • Oversee pre-startup planning, commissioning, and start-up of new plant facilities and modifications.
  • Ensure safe commissioning of new project components into operations.
  • Develop and lead HSE procedures and act as the Subject Matter Expert (SME) for safety, environment, and compliance.
  • Provide safety engineering support, review change/waiver requests, and ensure regulatory compliance.
  • Monitor and respond to HSE regulations, conduct gap analyses, and ensure project alignment.
  • Lead HSE training, incident investigations, risk assessments, and corrective actions.
  • Maintain industrial hygiene programs and share best practices across teams and site

Requirements:

  • Min. 5 years HSE experience in a chemical plant (with Chemical Engineering degree), or 10 years without a degree.
  • Familiar with ISO 14001/45001, SS561, and Safety Management Systems (added advantage).
  • Experienced in PHA facilitation and PSM framework management.
  • Knowledge in chemical plant construction safety and new plant startups preferred.
  • Strong understanding of HSE legislation, risk management, and hazard identification.
  • Skilled in incident investigation and trend analysis.
  • Strong leadership, teamwork, and communication skills.
  • Proficient in MS Office and SAP-EHS Management System
  • Willing to work in Jurong Island
