About the job Senior Business Analyst (Cash Management, Contract)
Main Responsibilities
- Apply best practices in Business Analysis while engaging stakeholders across all functional areas from front to back office.
- Analyze functional requirements derived from business stakeholders, end users, and IT teams.
- Translate functional requirements into clear, actionable solution designs.
- Develop and execute test cases aligned with IT and business requirements.
- Report, track, and assist in resolving software defects through triage processes.
- Work in an Agile-Scrum environment, balancing roles as both Business Analyst and Scrum Master; perform story grooming, refinement, and in-sprint testing.
- Manage business requirements and recommend solution design options to the team.
- Evaluate alternative IT solutions and offer sound recommendations.
- Provide domain expertise in Payments to help define practical business solutions in partnership with key stakeholders.
- Ensure solutions align with and support the overall business strategy.
- Assess how change requests, ad hoc projects, or technical issues impact project plans.
- Coordinate with various user and interface teams to onboard them as service participants in financial applications.
- Oversee stakeholder engagement, risk management, issue resolution, quality assurance, and project governance.
- Collaborate closely with the technical implementation team to bridge functional and technical requirements.
- Support Quality Assurance processes when necessary.
- Offer functional guidance to the team, working directly with developers and tech leads to address and resolve queries.
Qualifications and Profile
- Minimum of 7 years of hands-on experience as a Business Analyst within banking IT, specifically in Payment and Core Banking systems.
- In-depth knowledge of end-to-end payment systems, including payment file formats like ISO20022, SWIFT, and SEPA; strong expertise in field/value mapping and validation - Must Have.
- Practical experience with payment processing systems, including Payments Hub, clearing/settlement systems, ACH programs, and payment channels - Must Have
- Solid understanding of payment life cycles (Client to Clearing) for high-value transactions, and experience with Return Messages (R-Msgs) Must Have.
- Proficient in Functional Testing and System Integration Testing of financial applications, along with hands-on experience in UAT Must Have.
- Strong knowledge of SDLC and STLC Must Have.
- Skilled in breaking down Functional Specs and EPICs into developer-ready user stories with traceability - Must Have
- Experience writing test cases using Cucumber (Gherkin language) in a BDD environment Preferred.
- Familiarity with automated testing tools like SOAP UI, Selenium, or similar Preferred.
- Ability to interpret high-level requirements and decompose them into detailed tasks while managing change Preferred.
- Background in areas such as Corporate Banking, Commercial Payments, Domestic/International Payments, Payment Hubs, Correspondent Banking, Real-Time Payments, Cash/Liquidity Management, AML/Compliance, Foreign Exchange, and SWIFT/ISO messaging Desirable.
Other Professional Skills and Mindset
- Experienced in managing payments-related projects as a Scrum Master or Project Manager, including sprint planning, tracking, and stakeholder coordination.
- Proficient in leading Agile ceremonies and driving the sprint life cycle.
- Comfortable using Agile tools (e.g., Atlassian suite), BA documentation tools (MS Word, Excel, Visio), and QA platforms.
- Take ownership of requirements management and ensure documentation is maintained and updated regularly.
- Understand all stages of IT system development and deployment life cycles.
- Analytical mindset with high attention to detail; adept at translating complex ideas into clear, concise documentation.
- Able to collaborate with development and delivery teams across different functions and geographies.
- Committed to delivering efficient and timely solutions.
- Strong team player, passionate about knowledge sharing and collaboration.
- Versatile and proactive in hands-on activities.
- Work effectively within a distributed organization (e.g., Paris, SQY, Singapore); capable of building strong relationships with program leads, architecture teams, and QA teams.
- Occasional travel may be required
