About the job Executive (Trade/Pricing)(Shipping)(Open to entry level Maritime Candidates)
Our client is a well established shipping brand. In view of expansion, they are currently seeking a suitably qualified candidate to join them as "Executive (Trade Pricing)(Liner Shipping)".
In this role, you will be responsible for the following :
- Monitor open space availability on assigned services and coordinate with Line Management Dept and local offices to optimize space utilization
- Provide timely and market-aligned quotations to customers, maintaining close communication to support booking confirmation and customer satisfaction
- Develop, implement, and continuously review pricing strategies to maximize yield while remaining fully aligned with market trends, competitive conditions, and internal pricing guidelines
- Collaborate closely with local offices on daily inquiries, volume forecasts, and service strategies to protect and grow market share.
- Establish, review, and update Bunker Adjustment Factor (BAF) rates for Dead Freight accounts monthly
- Provide ongoing commercial and pricing support to Dead Freight customers, addressing inquiries, rate clarifications, and ad-hoc requirements efficiently
- Manage BAF pricing updates, ensuring timely communication and continuous support to DF customers and local offices
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date system records, including DF contracts, rate filings, allocations, and amendments, to ensure operational and billing accuracy
- Serve as a pricing advisor to relevant stakeholders by providing guidance on rate applications, market conditions, and exception handling
- Coordinate closely with Sales, and Line Management teams to ensure alignment between commercial commitments and operational feasibility
Requirements:
- Diploma in Business, Logistics or a related field in shipping profession is an added advantage.
- Entry Level candidates are welcome to apply; training will be provided.
- Strong understanding of feeder shipping operations and container logistics.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
- Proven ability to build and maintain relationships with clients and partners.
- Results-driven mindset with a track record of meeting or exceeding sales targets.
- Candidate should be equipped with good numeracy skills
- Candidate must be meticulous with details, multi-tasking, possess a positive learning attitude, and be able to cope with the fast-paced working environment
- Proficient in MS Word & Excel
