Java Technical Delivery Lead

• Lead the technical design, delivery, and quality of our Workflow & Automation initiatives.
• This leadership role requires a hands-on approach in designing scalable solutions, managing offshore and vendor teams, and ensuring the highest standards of quality and technical excellence. You will be instrumental in overseeing technical governance, driving process improvements, and mentoring a talented engineering team to deliver robust, efficient solutions.
• Key Responsibilities:
• Lead the end-to-end process of technical solutioning, from initial requirements through to final delivery. Translate business requirements into efficient, scalable, and maintainable technical designs. Own key design decisions and ensure alignment with offshore/vendor solutions.
• Ensure the technical quality and integrity of all development work. Enforce best practices in coding, technical standards, and solution architecture. Lead design and code reviews, proactively managing risks and enhancing solution quality.
• Provide technical direction and oversight to offshore and vendor teams. Conduct regular reviews of deliverables to ensure they align with the approved designs and standards. Collaborate closely with stakeholders to mitigate risks, manage dependencies, and ensure timely delivery.
• Oversee and support unit, integration, and UAT testing phases. Review release procedures, assess deployment readiness, and ensure robust rollback strategies. Assist with post-go-live stabilization and provide ongoing production support.
• Lead root cause analysis and implement solutions to prevent recurring issues. Drive continuous improvements in design, delivery processes, and development practices. Contribute to platform modernization efforts and the enhancement of workflow automation.
• Mentor and coach junior engineers to ensure high-quality development standards. Foster a culture of continuous learning and best practices in design, coding, and testing.

Key Requirements:

• Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
• Proven hands-on experience with Java (J2EE, Spring) for more than 8 years, with experience in front-end frameworks (Angular, AngularJS, React, ReactJS), and solution design. Proven track record in overseeing offshore and vendor teams, ensuring technical alignment with organizational standards.
• Experience with workflow systems, preferably in the banking or financial services sectors.
• Deep experience deploying and maintaining cloud-native Java applications on platforms such as Azure, AWS, or GCP.
• Hands-on experience with containerization technologies such as Kubernetes and OpenShift.
• Familiar with both Waterfall and Agile SDLC methodologies.
• Strong understanding of non-functional requirements (performance, security, scalability, and maintainability).
• Proven ability to take ownership and deliver technical outcomes with accountability.
• Ability to lead design discussions, challenge ideas constructively, and provide technical governance.
• Proactive in identifying potential risks, resolving issues, and implementing preventive actions.
• Exceptional communication, collaboration, and stakeholder management skills.
• Prior experience mentoring and leading engineering teams.
