Safety Coordinator

Job brief

Safety Coordinator supports the implementation of workplace safety and health (WSH) practices on site. The role assists the Safety Officer and project management team in monitoring site safety, conducting inspections, and ensuring workers comply with safety regulations and procedures.

Responsibilities

• Site Safety Monitoring
• Conduct daily site safety inspections to identify hazards and unsafe practices.
• Ensure workers comply with safe work procedures and proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
• Report safety violations and recommend corrective actions
• Risk Assessment & Safety Implementation
• Assist in preparing and implementing Risk Assessments (RA) and Safe Work Procedures (SWP).
• Monitor high-risk construction activities such as lifting operations, working at height, and confined space works.
• Ensure control measures are implemented according to approved method statements
• Safety Training & Toolbox Meetings
• Conduct or assist in toolbox meetings (TBM) and daily safety briefings.
• Promote safety awareness among workers and subcontractors.
• Ensure workers understand safety requirements before starting work
• Incident Reporting & Investigation
  
• Assist in investigating accidents, near misses, and unsafe conditions.
• Prepare incident reports and recommend preventive measures.
• Follow up on corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
  
• Regulatory Compliance
• Ensure site activities comply with regulations from the
• Ministry of Manpower and the Building and Construction Authority.
• Support safety audits, inspections, and authority visits
• Safety Documentation
• Maintain site safety records including:
• Safety inspection reports
• Toolbox meeting records
• Risk assessments and safe work procedure
• Permit-to-Work (PTW) documentation

Requirements

• Certificate or Diploma in Workplace Safety and Health (WSH), Engineering, or Construction.
• 5 years experience in construction site safety.
• Completion of safety courses such as:
• Building Construction Supervisors Safety (BCSS)
• Work at Height (WAH) for Supervisors
• Good understanding of Singapore construction safety regulations.
