Job brief

A Structural Lead  is responsible for leading the structural engineering design, coordination, and technical delivery of building projects from concept through construction. The role ensures structural systems are safe, efficient, buildable, and integrated with architectural and MEP designs within the project timeline.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the structural design development from concept design to detailed engineering.
  • Review and approve structural calculations, analysis models, and design drawings.
  • Ensure structural systems meet load, safety, durability, and performance requirements.
  • Design Coordination
  • Coordinate structural design with architecture, façade, and MEP teams in a design-and-build environment.
  • Identify and resolve design clashes and constructability issues during design development.
  • Work closely with BIM teams to integrate structural models into the projects BIM / IDD framework.
  • Technical Review & Engineering Control
  • Review structural drawings, shop drawings, and method statements.
  • Provide technical solutions for complex structural problems and site constraints.
  • Ensure design complies with project specifications and engineering standards.
  • Authority Compliance
  • Ensure structural designs comply with Singapore regulations and codes, including those from the Building and Construction Authority
  • Support submissions and technical documentation required for regulatory approval.
  • Construction Support
  • Provide technical support during the construction phase.
  • Review RFIs, design changes, and site issues related to structural works.
  • Conduct site inspections to ensure structural works meet design intent and quality standards.
  • Procurement & Contractor Coordination
  • Support tender evaluation for structural subcontractors and suppliers.
  • Review contractor proposals, structural shop drawings, and temporary works design.
  • Coordinate with contractors to ensure structural works are delivered according to schedule.

Requirements

  1. Degree in Civil or Structural Engineering.
  2. 8–12+ years of structural engineering experience, preferably in building projects.
  3. Experience in design-and-build or EPC project delivery.
