Project Manager — PM Governance & Delivery Excellence

Role

As a Project Manager, you will play a key role in professionalizing the project management approach within the Customer Network Operations department. You bring structure, methodology and governance to an environment that operates project-based but does not yet have a mature PM framework in place.

Concretely, this means:

  • Setting up a PM framework: you design and implement a project management methodology (PRINCE2, hybrid Agile/Waterfall, or suitable alternative) including governance structures, stage gates, templates, reporting standards and escalation processes.
  • Coaching & maturity uplift: you coach and guide existing project managers toward a higher level of planning discipline, risk management, stakeholder management and executive reporting.
  • Governance & reporting: you establish structured steering committee formats, dashboards and decision packs that give management clear visibility on project status, risks and dependencies.
  • Hands-on delivery support: where needed, you step in on ongoing projects to put the methodology into practice and support the team.

You report to the Head of Customer Network Operations and work closely with internal teams, suppliers and customers.

Environment

The Customer Network Operations department is responsible for the realization of customer connections and the expansion of the fiber optic network. The organization delivers mission-critical infrastructure to enterprises, governments and utility companies across the Benelux. You will work in a technical environment where connectivity projects (fiber, DWDM, routing & switching) are at the core.

Profile

  • Higher education (Bachelor or Master) or equivalent through experience
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in project management, with demonstrable experience in setting up PM structures, governance or PMO frameworks
  • Thorough knowledge of project management methodologies (PRINCE2, Agile, Waterfall, hybrid)
  • Experience in coaching and mentoring project managers
  • Experience in setting up reporting, dashboards and executive decision support
  • Strong ability to structure processes and introduce standards in a growing organization
  • Affinity with telecom/connectivity is a plus but not a requirement
  • Customer-oriented mindset with commercial awareness
  • Excellent knowledge of Dutch and English (French is a plus)
  • Certifications such as PRINCE2 Practitioner, PMP, SAFe or P3O are a plus
