SService Description We are looking for a Data Analyst Business Controlling consultant to help transform financial and operational data into actionable insights that support decision-making, performance optimization, and digital transformation. In this role, you will work at the intersection of finance, analytics, and automation, using advanced analytical methods, Python, AI/ML, and reporting tools to improve forecasting, anomaly detection, and overall controlling processes. You will continuously test hypotheses, explore data, and refine analytical models to bring innovation into the controlling function. Main Responsibilities Collect, clean, and analyze financial and operational data from multiple internal systems, such as ERP platforms, reporting tools, and spreadsheets. Develop automated dashboards, visualizations, and analytical solutions using tools such as Power BI, Python, VS Code, and low-code platforms. Build and maintain predictive and analytical models for forecasting, anomaly detection, scenario analysis, budgeting, and investment support. Integrate AI and machine learning capabilities into controlling and reporting processes in collaboration with business and IT stakeholders. Design and maintain automated data pipelines and transformation flows in Python, including ETL processes and data quality checks. Deliver ad hoc analyses and business cases, translating data into clear recommendations and practical business insights. Document developed solutions and contribute to self-service analytics by sharing knowledge and supporting end users. Work closely with finance, IT, and data teams to identify opportunities for automation and process improvement. Requirements Strong hands-on experience with Python for data analysis, modeling, and automation, including libraries such as pandas, numpy, and scikit-learn. Experience with BI and analytics tools, such as Power BI, Power Apps, VS Code, or comparable technologies. Solid understanding of statistics and AI/ML techniques applied to business-oriented use cases. Good knowledge of finance, controlling processes, KPIs, and reporting practices. Ability to translate business needs into analytical solutions and practical recommendations. Strong communication skills and the ability to interact with both technical and non-technical stakeholders. Strong analytical mindset, problem-solving ability, and structured way of working. Comfortable working autonomously with complex and unstructured datasets, from initial exploration through to business interpretation. Education & Experience Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Business Analytics, Finance, Data Science, Computer Science, or a related field. Around 2 to 5 years of experience as a Data Analyst, ideally in a finance, controlling, or business performance environment. Professional working proficiency in English, combined with Dutch and/or French. Additional Information Region: Brussels Hybrid setup: Onsite presence expected 2 days per week
