DevSecOps Engineer
About the job DevSecOps Engineer
We are seeking an experienced DevSecOps Engineer to support and secure Appian-based systems for the U.S. Department of the Treasury. This position is critical to ensuring that Appian environments operate with high availability, scalability, and compliance by integrating modern DevOps and security practices throughout the software development lifecycle.
Important Note: This is a hybrid on-call position. While most work can be done remotely, candidates must be based in the Washington, D.C. area and available to work onsite if requested by the client.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and implement CI/CD pipelines using tools like Jenkins, GitLab CI, or Azure DevOps.
- Automate provisioning, deployment, monitoring, and recovery of Appian environments.
- Integrate security tools such as SAST/DAST scanners into the build and deployment lifecycle.
- Support environment management tasks, including configuration, patching, upgrades, and backups.
- Monitor system performance and availability using infrastructure monitoring tools.
- Work closely with InfoSec, QA, and development teams to enforce DevSecOps best practices.
- Prepare and maintain documentation for SDLC compliance, including runbooks, deployment guides, and logs.
Preferred Qualifications
- 5+ years of experience in DevOps or systems engineering, ideally supporting Appian or other low-code platforms.
- Strong proficiency in Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools like Terraform or Ansible.
- Experience with containerization and orchestration tools such as Docker and Kubernetes.
- Familiarity with cloud environments, particularly AWS or Azure.
- Knowledge of integrating security tools such as SonarQube, Fortify, or OWASP ZAP.
- CompTIA Security+ or other DoD 8570-compliant certification is preferred.
