GPC Philippines Corporation is currently seeking a Junior Web Designer. This position will work from 12:00 am to 9:00 AM PHT and applies only to Philippine-based legal residents and citizens.
Work time will shift to better hours over time.
Job Description
The Junior Web Designer will support the Website Creation Team by designing and building functional, visually compelling websites using the companys proprietary CMS. This role requires a strong grasp of web design fundamentals, cross-browser compatibility, and responsive frameworks. The ideal candidate will have proven experience transforming wireframes or written directives into interactive, user-friendly websites. In addition to daily design work, this position collaborates cross-functionally with Onboarding Experts and the broader Design Team to create high-quality web and graphic assets. Success in this role will require exceptional attention to detail, solid technical capabilities, strong asynchronous communication skills, and comfort working independently in a fully remote, fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with onboarding experts and internal stakeholders to design, develop, and launch visually appealing and user-friendly websites using the proprietary CMS.
- Translate wireframes, mockups, or written directives into fully responsive and accessible website designs.
- Ensure all websites meet current web standards for performance, usability, accessibility (WCAG), and cross-browser/device compatibility.
- Regularly perform quality assurance checks on live sites to identify design or functionality issues and implement timely fixes.
- Work with the broader design team to maintain and evolve the visual identity system across digital assets.
- Assist in the development of custom graphics, icons, and layout components in Illustrator or Photoshop when needed.
- Continuously learn and apply best practices in UI/UX design, mobile responsiveness, and user-centered design thinking.
- Manage time and priorities effectively while working on multiple web design projects under tight deadlines.
- Participate in team stand-ups, design reviews, and feedback loops to ensure alignment and consistency across projects.
- Maintain organized and version-controlled files for seamless handoffs or collaborative work with development and QA teams.
Qualifications:
- Certification, diploma, or bachelors degree in Web Design or a related field.
- 2+ years of recent experience in a similar role preferred.
- Demonstrated ability to build websites from wireframes and/or written specifications.
- Proficient in HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript, jQuery, media queries, color theory, and typography.
- Skilled in Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop.
- Basic familiarity with CMS platforms (e.g., WordPress, Drupal, Joomla).
- Experience with Bootstrap or Foundation frameworks is a plus.
- Strong asynchronous communication skills and ability to self-manage tasks in a remote setup.
- Reliable internet connection, power backup, and a distraction-free workspace.
