Director of Nursing Programs | BSN Program Administrator
We are seeking an experienced and visionary Director of Nursing Programs to provide strategic leadership for our Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) program. This senior-level nursing leadership position offers the opportunity to shape the future of nursing education while ensuring excellence in curriculum development, accreditation compliance, and student outcomes. Job Responsibilities
- Provide strategic leadership and direction to the Nursing Department to achieve program goals, student outcomes, and accreditation standards
- Develop, implement, and continuously improve nursing curriculum, ensuring alignment with Board of Nursing regulations and accreditation requirements
- Oversee all components of the BSN program including quality assurance, regulatory compliance, NCLEX pass rates, and program outcome achievement
- Collaborate in annual budget preparation for the nursing program; monitor expenditures, align spending with revenue projections, and analyze budget variances
- Recruit, hire, retain, and supervise qualified full-time and adjunct nursing faculty in accordance with college policies and accreditation standards
- Provide mentorship, professional development, and performance evaluations for nursing faculty and staff
- Lead faculty orientation programs and ongoing development initiatives to enhance teaching excellence
- Prepare for and coordinate accreditation visits by ACEN, CCNE, or other programmatic accreditors and state Board of Nursing site visits
- Prepare and submit annual reports, interim reports, and substantive change requests to accrediting bodies and regulatory agencies
- Facilitate systematic program evaluation processes, including assessment of curriculum, faculty, students, resources, and program outcomes
- Supervise data collection, analysis, and utilization of key performance indicators to drive continuous quality improvement
- Represent the Nursing Program at college-wide meetings, academic committees, and community partnerships
- Collaborate with college administration to achieve institutional goals including student retention, graduation rates, NCLEX success, and faculty retention
- Engage with clinical partners, healthcare stakeholders, and communities of interest to strengthen program development and clinical placement opportunities
- Foster positive communication, collaboration, and teamwork among faculty, staff, students, and college personnel
- Teach assigned nursing courses within the department as required by Board of Nursing regulations
- Demonstrate commitment to professional development through participation in nursing education organizations and service to the profession
Job Requirements
- Current, unencumbered Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state where campus is located (required)
- Master's degree or higher (MSN, DNP, PhD) from an accredited institution with coursework in nursing, nursing education, or healthcare administration (required)
- Minimum of two (2) years of experience in a nursing administration or leadership position (required)
- Minimum of two (2) years of teaching experience in pre-licensure or post-licensure nursing education programs (required)
- At least two (2) years of clinical experience as a registered nurse providing direct patient care (required)
- Proven leadership skills with experience in strategic planning and change management
- Excellent oral and written communication skills for reports, presentations, and stakeholder engagement
- Knowledge of nursing program accreditation standards (ACEN, CCNE) and Board of Nursing regulations
- Experience with curriculum development, assessment, and evaluation in nursing education
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively with diverse populations, students, faculty, and healthcare partners
- Collaborative leadership style emphasizing teamwork, consensus-building, and facilitation
- Proficiency with learning management systems, assessment software, and computer-based educational resources
- Experience in budget preparation, financial management, and resource allocation
- Strong organizational skills with ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines
