GI/Liver Surgical Pathologist – Academic Medical Center | New York City, NY | Up to $375K + Bonus

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide comprehensive anatomic pathology diagnostic services with subspecialty focus on gastrointestinal and liver pathology
  • Interpret complex surgical pathology cases including GI biopsies, liver biopsies, and hepatobiliary resection specimens
  • Participate in multidisciplinary team conferences and tumor boards with gastroenterology, hepatology, oncology, and surgical teams
  • Teach and mentor pathology residents, gastroenterology fellows, and medical students in gastrointestinal and liver pathology
  • Engage in academic scholarship, including clinical research, translational research, and publication opportunities
  • Collaborate with clinical colleagues to deliver integrated patient care within an academic healthcare environment
  • Participate in departmental quality assurance, peer review, and continuing medical education activities
  • Contribute to departmental administration and service responsibilities as appropriate to academic rank

Required Qualifications

  • MD or DO degree from an accredited medical school
  • Board Certification or Board Eligibility in Anatomic Pathology by the American Board of Pathology
  • Completion of ACGME-accredited fellowship training in Gastrointestinal and Liver Pathology required
  • Current medical licensure in New York State or eligibility to obtain NY medical license
  • Demonstrated excellence in diagnostic anatomic pathology with subspecialty expertise in GI/hepatic pathology
  • Strong commitment to medical education and teaching pathology residents and students
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills for multidisciplinary collaboration
  • Interest in academic medicine, scholarly activity, and clinical or translational research

Compensation & Benefits Package

  • Competitive base salary ranging from $250,000 to $375,000 annually, commensurate with experience and qualifications
