The Opportunity

You'll provide comprehensive injury prevention, assessment, and rehabilitation services to athletes across school systems, outpatient clinics, and sporting events. Working under physician supervision, you'll be an essential part of a sports medicine care team that keeps athletes strong, safe, and performing at their best. This full-time, direct hire role welcomes new graduates and offers paid overtime.

What We're Looking For

Education & Licensure:

  • Bachelor's degree in Athletic Training, Sports Medicine, or related field (required)
  • Master's degree preferred
  • New York State Certified Athletic Trainer license (required)
  • NATABOC Certification (required)
  • BLS Certification (completed during clinical orientation through RQI system)

Experience:

  • New graduates encouraged to apply
  • 1–2 years in a school or outpatient orthopedic/physician practice setting preferred

Skills:

  • Strong leadership and multitasking abilities
  • Exceptional communication and customer service
  • Professionalism and discretion with confidential patient information
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and EMR systems preferred

Your Day-to-Day

You'll apply preventative care techniques and supportive devices for sports-related injuries while guiding injured athletes through conditioning and reconditioning programs. You'll communicate regularly with physicians, coaches, and families to coordinate care and provide education on injury prevention. Your responsibilities include providing event coverage and emergency response as scheduled, documenting care plans and progress accurately, and educating school staff and athletes on best practices. You'll maintain flexibility in work locations and schedules based on athletic and clinical needs across schools, clinics, and sporting events.
