Your Day-to-Day
You'll conduct initial patient evaluations and develop individualized treatment plans tailored to each person's rehabilitation needs. Your work includes administering therapeutic treatments such as exercises, manual therapy, and modalities like ultrasound, heat/ice therapy, and electrical stimulation.
You'll educate patients on exercise programs, posture correction, and injury prevention strategies to support long-term recovery and improved functional outcomes. Collaborating with a multidisciplinary care team, you'll monitor patient progress and adjust treatment plans to meet rehabilitation goals.
You'll document treatment plans, progress notes, and discharge summaries in compliance with departmental policies and industry standards. Maintaining a clean, safe, and organized environment aligned with infection control and safety guidelines is essential to your role.
What We're Looking For
Required:
- Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) or equivalent degree from an accredited program
- Valid Physical Therapist license in New York State (or eligibility to obtain at time of hire)
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification within 90 days of hire
- Ability to lift up to 30 pounds independently and up to 150 pounds with assistance
- Frequent standing, walking, bending, and moving patients during treatment sessions
Preferred:
- Prior experience in outpatient physical therapy settings
- Strong communication skills to collaborate effectively with patients, families, and team members
- Experience treating orthopedic, neurological, and musculoskeletal conditions
