Associate Director of Nursing Program – Leadership Role in Nursing Education
We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Associate Director of Nursing to join our team and help lead our nursing program to new heights. Key Responsibilities
- Collaborate with the Director in planning, developing, managing, and evaluating all nursing program components and curriculum
- Prepare comprehensive data and written materials for state Board of Registered Nursing (BRN) reports, accreditation proposals, self-studies, surveys, and site visits
- Identify and secure external funding sources and resources to support nursing program growth and innovation
- Evaluate clinical agencies and healthcare facilities to ensure alignment with nursing course objectives and student learning outcomes
- Oversee completion and approval of Facility Approval Applications prior to initiating clinical rotations
- Monitor and ensure timely completion of student theory and clinical evaluations by nursing faculty
- Maintain comprehensive evaluation records from students, clinical sites, and faculty following each clinical rotation
- Support strategic planning initiatives and assessment of instructional programs and teaching methodologies
- Drive continuous quality improvement in nursing education and instructional delivery
- Coordinate timely completion of clinical assignments, rotation matrices, and academic calendars
- Ensure faculty compliance with policies and procedures for student clinical experiences
- Conduct regular reviews of student learning materials and educational resources
- Maintain student records in accordance with institutional policies and regulatory requirements
- Submit required program reports and documentation to the Director within established timelines
- Stay current with emerging healthcare technologies, nursing education trends, and patient safety regulations
- Provide academic advising and program planning support to prospective and current nursing students
- Verify students meet all graduation requirements and state nursing licensure examination (NCLEX) eligibility criteria
- Teach nursing theory or clinical courses for approximately 50% of work time
- Perform additional duties as assigned to support program excellence
Required Qualifications
- Master's degree or higher from an accredited institution with coursework in nursing, nursing education, or healthcare administration
- Minimum of 3 years of leadership experience in a nursing education program
- At least 3 years of full-time nursing faculty experience in pre-licensure or post-licensure nursing programs
- Minimum of 1 year teaching experience in online learning environments and distance education
- At least 4 years of continuous full-time RN direct patient care experience in one or more of the following specialty areas within the last 5 years: geriatrics, medical-surgical nursing, mental health/psychiatric nursing, obstetrics, or pediatrics
- Current, active, and unrestricted California Board of Registered Nursing (BRN) license
- Excellent written, verbal communication, and presentation skills
- Action-oriented mindset with demonstrated innovation and adaptability in educational settings
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and learning management systems
- Strong organizational skills with ability to prioritize multiple tasks and meet critical deadlines
Compensation and Benefits
Annual Salary Range: $110,000 - $125,000 USD, commensurate with experience and qualifications
