Key Responsibilities

• Lead and manage electrical engineering teams in the design, development, and testing of consumer electronic products from conception to product launch
• Provide technical oversight and guidance on electrical/electronic circuit design, ensuring integration with overall product strategies and initiatives
• Manage multiple concurrent projects, establishing milestones, allocating resources, and ensuring delivery to specifications, schedules, and cost requirements
• Drive innovation by researching and integrating emerging technologies, best practices, and modern design methodologies into electronic product development
• Establish and maintain engineering design standards and practices to maximize productivity, quality, and efficiency across the engineering organization
• Conduct design reviews and evaluations for compliance with engineering standards, providing actionable feedback to improve product quality and performance
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams including mechanical engineering, manufacturing, and product management to ensure cohesive product design and feasibility
• Serve as subject matter expert on electrical engineering, solving complex technical challenges and providing technical leadership on strategic initiatives
• Research and evaluate vendors for contracted product development work and component sourcing
• Recommend engineering changes and process improvements to maximize productivity and ensure manufacturing efficiency
• Manage departmental budgets, control expenses, and ensure alignment with organizational financial goals
• Develop, mentor, and performance manage engineering staff; partner with HR on hiring, promotions, professional development, and employee relations

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronic Engineering, or equivalent technical discipline required
• Minimum 7 years of progressive electrical engineering experience with demonstrated leadership in managing complex electronic product design projects
• Proven experience leading and developing engineering teams to achieve product development objectives and organizational goals
• Advanced expertise in electrical circuit design, electronic component evaluation, testing methodologies, and PCB design principles
• Comprehensive knowledge of electronic design engineering principles, concepts, practices, and industry theories
• Demonstrated success managing projects from conception through completion, delivering on-time, on-budget results
• Strong understanding of product manufacturing processes including plastic injection molding, die casting, metal stamping, and mechanical assembly methods
• Working knowledge of materials science including plastics, polymers, metals, and pressure sealing principles
• Business acumen with understanding of product costs, manufacturing overhead, tooling depreciation, and impact on gross margins and operating profit
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills with ability to present complex technical concepts to diverse audiences
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and advanced skills in computer-based analysis, simulation, and electrical design software tools (e.g., CAD, circuit simulation, FEA)
• Strong cross-functional collaboration skills, particularly with mechanical engineering teams
