Plant Manager – Precision Machining (Aerospace)

The Opportunity
A privately held precision machining manufacturer serving aerospace and space customers is looking for a hands-on Plant Manager to lead all manufacturing operations at their ~70-person, ~$40M facility in New Britain, CT. This is a high-impact role with full ownership of production, quality, safety, maintenance, and continuous improvement. You'll step into a stable business with a strong aerospace customer base and the authority to drive real operational change.

Your Day-to-Day
- Lead daily operations across a precision machining facility of approximately 70 employees
- Own production scheduling, maintenance, quality systems, and safety compliance
- Drive key performance metrics including OEE, throughput, on-time delivery, and quality
- Implement and sustain Lean, 5S, and continuous improvement initiatives across the floor
- Partner with senior leadership on capacity planning, capital expenditure, and workforce development
- Identify operational bottlenecks and lead data-driven solutions to resolve them
- Ensure compliance with AS9100 and ISO aerospace standards
- Support hiring, training, and performance management across the operation
What We're Looking For
- 7+ years of manufacturing leadership experience, including at least 3 years in a plant or operations leadership role
- Background in precision machining is required; aerospace or aviation industry experience is required (or closely comparable)
- Proven experience leading teams of 40 or more people
- High-mix, low-volume manufacturing experience
- Strong working knowledge of Lean methodologies, production planning, and quality management systems
- ERP system experience preferred
