Energy & Infrastructure Finance Attorney | Associate (2-6 Years Experience)

A prestigious global law firm with over 100 years of practice excellence is seeking experienced Energy & Infrastructure Finance Associates to join their dynamic teams in New York, Washington DC, or Houston. This position offers the opportunity to work on sophisticated financing transactions and M&A deals involving renewable energy, tax equity, and infrastructure projects for industry-leading clients.

Key Responsibilities

  • Advise clients on complex financing transactions, including project finance, energy finance, and infrastructure financing arrangements
  • Handle private M&A transactions with a focus on energy and infrastructure sectors
  • Structure and negotiate tax equity investments and IRA credit transactions for renewable energy projects
  • Represent sponsors, developers, lenders, institutional investors, private equity investors, and tax equity investors throughout the project lifecycle
  • Draft and negotiate financing documentation, including credit agreements, security documents, and intercreditor agreements
  • Provide legal counsel on sustainability-linked and green loan principle-aligned financing structures
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver comprehensive legal solutions for energy and infrastructure matters

Required Qualifications

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from a top-tier accredited law school (Top 50 preferred)
  • Active Bar membership in good standing in New York, Washington DC, or Texas (depending on office location)
  • 2-6 years of relevant legal experience at an AmLaw 200 law firm
  • Demonstrated expertise in financing transactions and/or private M&A deals
  • Strong experience with project finance and energy financing transactions
  • Knowledge of tax equity structures and Inflation Reduction Act (IRA) tax credits
  • Experience with energy and infrastructure-related M&A transactions strongly preferred
  • Excellent drafting, negotiation, and analytical skills
  • Ability to manage multiple complex transactions simultaneously
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills with ability to work collaboratively
