Role Summary:

The Fleet Marine Engineer will assume a role reporting to the OEG Marine Operations Manager

Technical advice and support will be available as required from OEG Fleet Engineering Manager and Technical

Manager.

Shift Pattern:

The role requires you are on shift for a minimum period of (3 weeks) 21 days on, followed by (3

weeks) 21 days off as a minimum, however we are happy to consider an equal time for time

arrangement (subject to terms in the contract of employment) for you and your back to back if you

are both in agreement, for 4 weeks on/off, however a minimum of 3 on/off will apply.

If you require an extra time off outside of your normal rota period, then your back-to-back must agree

to remain on shift for duration of that time and for you to repay the time during the following shift

with prior agreement from your line manager. However, this must not be at any cost to the company,

either in days lost or financially.

You will change over at 12:00 hrs on the last Wednesday of your shift at a predefined location,

onward travel will be at the expense of the company (in alignment with the company travel policy,

subject to terms in the contract of employment).

You would not expect to be contacted by the vessels or office etc during your off-shift rota, however

if due to exceptional circumstances (your back to back fell ill etc) then we would appreciate assistance

in this instance.

Hours of work:

A normal working day will be 12 hours a day, 7 days a week while on shift. However, you may be

expected to exceed 12 hours if occasionally circumstances require it, due to breakdowns etc (however

this should be kept to a minimum).

You should remain contactable 24 hours a day during you on shift rota and be able to travel and work

at all times.

Transport, communication and tooling:

A company van with mobile phone will be supplied for use during your on-shift rota. It is your

responsibility to ensure this is maintained and fit for use.

Van fuel card will be available, oil and van consumables can be reclaimed through expenses or put on

company card.

Tooling and consumables will be supplied during your on-shift rota.

Both engineers will be provided with a laptop for use on and off shift as required.

An email account will set up that both engineers have access to as well as a company email address.

Accommodation, victualling:

When in Portland the company flat will be made available when onboard accommodation isn't

possible.

When working with a vessel, a cabin will be made available if possible, in the first instance, however if

this is not possible then a Bed and breakfast or hotel room would be available (Subject to the

company travel policy) Meals will be on the vessel. Otherwise, a daily subsistence of £25.00 will need

to be claimed through the company's webexpense system.

When travelling then a Bed and breakfast or hotel room would be available (Subject to the company
travel policy) and normal expenses policy will be adhered to.

Involvement will be in a wide range of activities including but limited to the following:
Be the initial point of contact for the vessels, this will involve receiving emails and phone calls
(sometimes out of hours), being proactive with your approach to solving all matters in a timely and
cost-effective manner.

Ensuring the vessels are maintained to a high standard and operational downtime is kept to an absolute
minimum.

Provide guidance and support to on board vessel engineers, ensuring compliance with company and
regulatory body requirements.
Duties and Responsibilities:

To travel around the fleet and carry out maintenance, technical inspections, and repair as required.
Be prepared to spend time on the vessels during quieter period and train/evaluate onboard engineering
crew.

Arrange attendance where necessary of all external contractors if required to provide inspection and
certification of OEG vessels.
Identify and assist in the arranging of planned and emergency dry dockings for OEG vessels as required.

Attend, manage Engineering crew, contractors and yards during maintenance periods and dry
dockings etc.

Ensure that accurate records are kept relating to any servicing and repairs made.
Identify, obtain quotations, and order any required spare or replacement parts required for use on
OEG and contracted Vessels.

Identify and implement improvements to vessels and various vessel related activities.
Provide technical expertise to the vessel Engineers when required
To maintain and ensure use of asset management and planned maintenance software systems.
Maintain & improve where necessary, the company's HSEQ standard of accreditation and ensure safe
systems of work are adhered to.

Keep accurate and up to date records of repairs and other works carried out, also ensuring the vessels
are doing the same.
Be prepared to travel throughout the UK and Europe as required during your on shift pattern.
Ensure that critical, non-critical spare parts and required tooling etc is identified, procured, stored
correctly, and logged.

Be prepared to sail as engineer on any OEG vessel to act as emergency cover if occasionally required.
Be prepared to travel to OEG facility at Portland on a regular basis.

HSEQ:
Implement the OEG Health, Safety, Environmental and Quality Policies and Procedures.
Ensure that staff and contractors are familiar with the requirements of the OEG Health, Safety,
Environmental and Quality Policies and Procedures.
Confirm that suitable procedures to secure safe places and safe systems of work for all employees,
Contractor/ Sub-Contractors and any others who may be affected by the work are established.
Ensuring works under their control are undertaken in a safe manner in alignment with the OEG health
and safety procedures.
Drive forward the positive safety culture of OEG and strive for continual improvement; and
Identify gaps in coverage and update existing and/or initiate new policies & procedures as necessary.
