Job Objective:

Care for plasma donor during plasmapheresis activity through successful donor and instrument setup,through successful collection process, and then successfully disconnect donor and complete initial processing unit of plasma unit. The employee maintains equipment and environment to assure a successful donor outcome and maintains professional and positive attitude to promote a calm and professional environment for the potential donor.

Environment:

 Internal: Donor Center Management and Medical staff.

External: Donors, patient groups, auditors, and community and neighborhood organizations.

Key responsibility:

 Assists in determining the suitability of donors to undergo plasmapheresis prior to venipuncture.

 Responds to and assists with handling donor reactions in accordance with guidelines

 Monitors donor and equipment to ensure health of donors and quality of product.

 Sets up, disconnects and operates the automated plasmapheresis machines including response and evaluation of all autopheresis troubleshooting displays, documentation of exceptions, etc.

Ensures the proper calibration and maintenance of autopheresis machines and associated equipment.

 May be trained to repair plasma equipment.

Disconnects and disposes of all contaminated disposable equipment.

Ensures proper cleaning of equipment and work area between donors.

Maintains accurate and thorough documentation of production records.

Ensures donor confidentiality.

 Builds rapport with donors to ensure 

Ensures overall customer satisfaction with the center to support long-term donation.

 Learns and maintains thorough familiarity and compliance with all local competent authority regulations.

Standard Operating Procedure Manual, Current Good Manufacturing Practice (eGMP) and internal company procedures

Reports all unsafe working situations or conditions to area lead, supervisor or manager.

Academic experience required:

Nurse or Health Technical Institute graduate or equivalent.

Professional Experience Required:

1 years of clinical experience.

Experience with plasma or whole blood, and with GMP regulated environment preferred.

Computing Skills:

MS Office knowledge preferred but not required.

Personal Skills

Communication and customer service skills.

 Organized and able to manage time effectively.

 Ability to work within a highly regulated, labor intensive, fast paced medical environment.

 Ability to understand and follow SOP's and protocols.

Languages

 Written and spoken English and Arabic.
