About the job Principal Engineer
Key responsibility
- Advanced Technical Expertise: Serve as a subject matter expert in core engineering disciplines relevant to the GEPD plant providing technical guidance and innovative solutions to complex engineering challenges.
- Design & Implementation Leadership: Support in the review of BOQ design, VOCs, and IFC specifications, and installation of the construction activities, and facility modifications, ensuring all aspects meet technical requirements, safety standards.
- Problem Solving & Optimization: Identify opportunities for process optimization and efficiency improvements within the plant.
- Project Contribution & Oversight: Contribute significantly to major engineering projects, potentially leading specific civil packages, and ensuring quality specifications.
- Mentorship & Knowledge Transfer: Mentor junior engineers and technical staff, sharing knowledge and best practices to foster team development and capability building. Closely monitor the performance of the team and encourage them and thank them as well as coach and highlight and help to resolve and learn from mistakes.
- Documentation & Standards: Develop, review, and maintain facility documentation and Facility standard operating procedures (SOPs).
- Collaboration: Work effectively with cross-functional teams to integrate engineering solutions with production needs and quality requirements.
Academic experience required
- Bachelor's degree in Civil or Architectural Engineering.
- Master's degree or relevant professional engineering license/certification is a plus.
Professional Experience Required
- Minimum of 6-8 years of experience in a Civil or Architectural engineering role in construction projects.
- Demonstrated in-depth knowledge and practical application of complex civil activity design such as BOQ reviewing and implementation. Experience contributing to or leading engineering projects from concept through completion.
Computing Skills
- Proficiency in CAD software (e.g., AutoCAD).
- Strong command of Microsoft Office Suite.

- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
- Effective communication skills, both verbal and written, for technical discussions and documentation.
- Ability to work collaboratively within cross-functional teams.

Languages
Fluent in both written and spoken English.
Proficiency in Arabic is beneficial for local communication.
